Human Rights Day

"Human Rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity."

-Mother Teresa

Human Rights Day marks the fact that every human being deserves some basic rights and refusing them with this is a serious violation of humanity. Every year, the world celebrated Human Rights Day on the 10th of December. The date was chosen because on 10th December 1948, the UN first time released the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" globally.

Every year, United Nations observes this day with a special theme. The theme for this year is "EQUALITY - Reducing inequalities, advancing human rights" which targets the rotten minds of the world who discriminate in providing basic human rights on the basis of Religion, Race, Gender etc.

We at GISU, observed Human Rights Day to prompt learners to treat everyone equal and raise voice against any kind of injustice to humans or human rights.

A special assembly for Grades VI to IX was conducted on HUMAN RIGHTS DAY. The children through thoughts and speech emphasized that "IF WE ALL STAND TOGETHER, WORK TOGETHER, SHARE, RESPECT & HONOUR EACH & EVERY PERSON, THE WORLD WILL DEFINITELY BECOME A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE!"
