International Mother Language Day

International Mother Language Day is a worldwide, annual observance held on 21st February, to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to celebrate multilingualism. International Mother Language Day recognizes that languages and multilingualism can advance inclusion and the Sustainable Development Goals of Quality Education with focus on leaving no one behind. UNESCO believes education, based on the first language or mother tongue, is the foundation of learning.
At Gajera international school, Utran “We recognize that language is an important part of culture and encourage the power of language in building and communicating understanding”, and in keeping with these values, we celebrated Mother Language day Assembly. The Mathrubhasha Diwas was celebrated with entire school wherein two learners from primary shared poems in their mother languages. Educators shared their views on importance of mother language in life.
