International Yoga Day Celebration

"Yoga is the journey of the self, to the self, through the self."

Yoga has been practiced in India since the 5th century. The International Day of Yoga is celebrated on 21st June globally to raise awareness about the benefits of the ancient practice. The United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Yoga Day. Yoga keeps the mind and body balance intact.

At Gajera International School, Utran, Yoga session was conducted by Yoga Trainer – Mr. Keyur Gabani and almost 450 students and 25 educators practiced different Asanas. Never having spared an opportunity to make its contribution to the growth of the environment and mankind, the institution held special Yoga classes for all its students and teachers for one week. The Yoga Trainer enlightened everyone about the importance of Yoga and Meditation in their lives. He said that apart from keeping the body fit and healthy, Yoga also cleanses the soul. Moreover it was a treat to watch both children and educators performing yoga for a healthy body and soul. The entire area reverberated with the soft and melodious chanting of shlokas while the children performed the ‘asanas.’

The Principal, Mrs. Shashikala Yadav, in her address added how through Yoga one can transform one’s life and maintain a balance between mind, body and soul and bring peace. She emphasized upon the magical role that Yoga can play in a stressful modern lifestyle likely during the pandemic; yoga became an antidote for those who were suffering from viral diseases. It not only helped one in releasing and managing stress but also helped them to have a stronger immune system and flexible body.

So make it a habit to practice Yoga every day for a healthy Mind, Body and Soul.
