Janmashtami celebration
Every moment of life is worth a Celebration. The more you praise and celebrate life, the more there is in life to celebrate."
India is the land of festivals and Janmashtami is one of the most popular and vibrant among all. It is an annual Hindu celebration held during the monsoons. Krishna Janmashtami commemorates the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar or incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Gajerians also came together to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna with much fervor and enthusiasm.
The learners of Pre-Primary and Grade 1 and 2 came traditionally dressed as Radha and Krishna. The school was well decorated for the celebration and aarti and bhajans were recited and songs related to Janmashtami were played. A puja was performed by the staff and children of the school. Fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of burning camphor and jingle of the bells filled the air.
A splendidly colorful program was organized by the children and staff of the school; where they presented songs and dance drama to portray the chronicles of Krishna's life. One of the spectacles of the celebration was Dahi Handi, an event that narrated the story of young Krishna as Makhanchor.
The young learners formed a human pyramid, climbed up to the Handi and broke it. Later, Prasad was distributed to all children. It was enjoyed by everyone.
