Gajera International Utran
Makar Sankranti Celebration
Uttarayan, also known as Makar Sankranti, is a festival celebrated across India with great enthusiasm. As part of the celebration, a colouring competition was held on 13th January 2023, Friday for pre-primary students at Gajera International School, Utran. The competition was held in order to promote creativity and appreciation of the festival among young children.
The students were encouraged to be creative and use their imaginations to create unique works of art. They used a variety of colours to bring out the beauty of Uttarayan, and the artworks were judged on their creativity, originality, and use of colour.
The colouring competition was a great way to engage pre-primary students in the spirit of Uttarayan, and to promote creativity and appreciation of the festival among young children. It was also a wonderful opportunity for students to express themselves through art.
The educators of pre- primary explained them through videos the serious consequences of flying kites as birds can get entangled in the strings (manja) or caught in the kite itself, causing harm or even death.
The little wonders also held a rally in the school campus to explain all present in school what we all should do to ensure the safety of our feathered friends and enjoy the festival of Uttarayan.
Love Birds, Not Kites
Happy Uttarayan!!!
