Parenting Session 2022-23

”We all have the responsibility to take proper care of children, to commit ourselves to their development and to prepare them for the future. Parents and caregivers are mostly responsible for upbringing and development of the child, while the institutions are responsible for providing assistance and support in raising and caring for children.”

Based on the above premise, Gajera International School hosted a parenting session on 19th January 2023 for parents of Pre-primary and Grade 1 to 4 to help them understand their children better and build a strong relationship with them. The session was conducted by the Honorable Director of Gajera Vidyabhavan, Mr. Jayesh Patel and Principal of Gajera International School, Ms. Shashikala Yadav who provided tips and strategies on how to maintain effective communication with children and for their overall development.

The session began with lighting of lamp followed by a speech by Ms. Shashikala Yadav who sensitized the parents on the importance of Positive Parenting in the current era. She urged the parents to spend quality time with their children, know them, and equip them with essential life-skills.

Mr. Jayesh Patel began by discussing the importance of setting boundaries and expectations in order to help children develop a sense of responsibility. He also emphasized the need to be patient and understanding when children are struggling with difficult emotions or behaviors. He also discussed how to foster a healthy and supportive environment at home and encouraged parents to be actively involved in their children’s lives.

He then moved on to discuss the importance of positive reinforcement and how it can help children develop confidence and self-esteem. He also discussed the importance of providing appropriate guidance and discipline to children in order to help them learn from their mistakes and develop a sense of responsibility.

Overall, the session was very informative and helpful for all the parents who attended. It was a great opportunity for parents to gain valuable insights on how to better communicate and interact with their children.
