"World Athletics Day Celebration"
There is a proverb that “Healthy body has a healthy mind.” In order to enhance sports activities; various sports events are planned throughout the year.
The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has 32 affiliated state units and institutional units.
The basic purpose of World Athletics Day is to promote the culture of the sports among the students since their childhood so that they can give good results in big events like Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian games etc. Athletes also include around two dozen different events in various divisions.

To promote participation in athletics among youngsters, Gajera International School had organized "Athletics Meet" on 6th May 2022 wherein learners participated in various field and track events that incorporates activities such as running, High Jump, Shot put, Relay race, etc. It was a mesmerizing and an eye-catching performance by the students. There were some fun races for primary students.
The teachers also got an opportunity to prove their physical fitness by participating in races. They proved that age is no bar for running and winning on the tracks.It is important to celebrate this day, promote sports’ rich heritage, and encourage young people to seek careers in athletics. To encourage the youngsters, Gajera International school had also organised a seminar on "Importance of Health and Physical fitness'. The guest of honour was Mr. Mahesh Prajapati who is the only person to win the title 'Full Iron Man' 4 times. Ironman is the toughest event of the world organised in one day which include 3.8km Sea swimming, 180km Cycling, 42.2 km Running. Mr. Mahesh Prajapati has participated in many countries for iron man championship such as Malaysia in 2018 & 2019, South Korea in 2019, South Africa 2022.
He addressed the learners and shared motivating speech. At the end, respected Principal ma'am felicitated the guest of honour Mr. Mahesh Prajapati followed by vote of thanks. She in her speech motivated the learners to focus on health and to do activities which will help in keeping good health. She congratulated her team of teachers for the success of the program. She ended her speech by saying - "Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision".
